About Matt Bernard Photography

Matt Bernard Photography is made up of our little family, not just me, Matt.

I am joined by my very talented wife Katrina and our inspiration, little Everly, who also enjoys snapping photos on Mum and Dad's iPhones - she's still learning the trade!

I first picked up a camera at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. My family and I watched the Kayaking competition and I stole my Mum's film camera. I burned through my parents film, taking terrible photos of athletes while Olympic photographers sat metres away - that day ignited my love of photography.

After studying photography alongside a host of design subjects at school. I began working for a publishing company and learned skills from some of the best action sports and portrait photographers in Australia.

I have been privileged create images from well known brands, capture the world's best athletes, shoot at some of the biggest events and had photos featured on over 30 magazine covers in Australia and overseas.

I love converting my skills and passion for action sports and corporate photography into capturing incredibly special moments for families and weddings.

Katrina' s photography career started hastily. She was thrown in the deep-end by yours truly. Not long after we began dating, I needed a secondary photographer. Knowing her natural creativity and flair, I handed her my spare camera and amazing results were delivered.

Fast forward ten years, combine Katrina's love for capturing the special moments, perfected photography skills, artistic vision with diploma-accredited early childcare skills and the second team member of Matt Bernard Photography is born.

As a team unit, a journalistic style partnered with a creative flair creates a special combination for capturing memorable moments with families, sporting competitions, corporate events and weddings.
